Information for suppliers and factories
Primark expects all its suppliers to comply with the Primark Code of Conduct , which forms part of the Primark Terms and Conditions of Trade.
Our Code of Conduct sets out the core principles that suppliers and factories must follow to ensure products are made in good working conditions, and the people making them are treated decently and paid a fair wage.
It is based upon the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code, which is itself founded on the conventions of the International Labour Organisation, and is an internationally recognised code of labour practice.
Our Code of Conduct has been translated into 26 languages, including regional languages.
Promoting good workplaces by working together
We recognise that compliance with the Code of Conduct means a programme of continuous improvement and we are committed to working with those in our supply chain who share this commitment.
Some issues are easy to resolve, others may take longer and may require significant changes to management systems and processes, perceptions, and workplace communications.
Our experience has shown us that these changes, whilst made for ethical compliance, mean better, more efficient and stable workplaces, where everyone from the factory floor to the factory owner benefits.
Above all, we value commitment and transparency. We know that achieving ethical compliance can be challenging, and we welcome those suppliers who wish to work with us openly, and encourage suppliers to share their challenges with us.
